Abstract

Preventive activities are tasks that best characterize the involvement of primary health care at the communities in which they live, and one that has great importance in assisting the elderly. The benefit that each senior can obtain preventive interventions that target is largely dependent on the baseline level of health and degree of functionality that has. Know the national and international recommendations for the provision of anticipatory care to the elderly and take every opportunity to perform can contribute to reducing mortality among the elderly who benefit from them and to increase the likelihood they continued to live in the community. The anticipatory care must be taken with the appropriate frequency in each case and the interventions should be consensual with the patient and with the family or caregiver, when this is relevant.
