The diagnosis of the disease of the oral mucosa is frequently based solely on clinical history and examination, despite the use of supplementary diagnostic sometimes be necessary. There are various pathologies affecting the oral mucosa but the signs and symptoms may be quite similar, which contributes to greater difficulty in the differential diagnosis of these diseases, particularly for less trained professionals in the clinical examination of the mouth. This article seeks to address, in a succinct and clear, that the disease most often involves the soft tissues of the oral cavity, in the Portuguese population. It is intended to provide GP a tool that allows you to make the differential diagnosis of the most common pathology of the oral mucosa and use the most appropriate therapy for each situation.Downloads
