Proceeds to a review of available data on the causes, mortality and morbidity due to home and leisure accidents in childhood, with particular emphasis on step 0-14 years. Are analyzed available data on the countries of the European Union and Portugal. Addresses the problem of poverty in relation to the increased risk and proposes a list of preventive procedures to deal with parents in clinical practice.
