From the moment drugs are marketed and turn into common consumer goods, phenomenons such as the marketing of products with little or no proved efficiency, the belittlement of risks or the promotion of therapeutic alternatives whose only differences with well-known options are a higher price and an uncertain safety take place. In this context, in order to ensure a more proper and safer medication use and the delivery of an optimum healthcare quality to the patients, it is of the essence: (1) to apply the clinical method to the entire circuit of the drug, from the registration of new substances to consumption; (2) to promote the rational prescription of drugs, instead of a purely commercial prescription; (3) to build up effective and dynamic systems of pharmacosurveillance; and (4) to offer independent continuous training programs to healthcare professionals, along with a solid sanitary training.Downloads
