A rua ainda é morada de muita gente. A questão esquecida e poucas vezes colocada é o porquê. Concluímos prontamente que são pessoas em condições precárias e associamos a rua à pobreza. Mas esquecemo-nos frequentemente de uma questão fundamental: a saúde mental. Enquanto internos de medicina geral e familiar, a estagiar na Clínica 3 – Serviço de Psiquiatria Geral e Transcultural do Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa (CHPL), tivemos oportunidade de contactar com esta realidade, acompanhando a equipa liderada pelo Dr. António Bento. Com esta experiência concluímos que este é um problema que também está nas nossas mãos. No entanto, para prevenir e atuar é necessário conhecer a realidade e, acima de tudo, perceber que a questão dos sem-abrigo é muitas vezes mais que uma problemática social, sendo também uma questão de patologia psiquiátrica.
