By describing a Quality Assurance Cycle in Maternal Health at the Sintra Health Centre, the authors intend to highlight the contribution given by this kind of work toward improving care and continuing education. This Quality Assurance Cycle, which started out in 1995 with criteria definition, has so far allowed for two assessments both followed by criteria re-definition, and corrective measures of an educational and/or structural nature. Eight doctors participated directly in this assessment in 1995 and 1996.Downloads
