Abstract

Extra-hospital graduate teaching is a widely acknowledged need of medical schools in the developed world. At Lisbon Medical School, at least since 1987, health centres have been used as a teaching resource on a par with the hospital. The authors describe and assess the Community Project, which took place between 1996 and 1998.
