Abstract

Menopause is the cessation of spontaneous menses woman. This article presents a brief review, referring to the physiological mechanisms underlying the menopause, their diagnosis (exempting, in most cases, additional tests) and the impact that has on the various organs and systems. The knowledge of the functions of estrogens, allows us to understand the impact of its deficiency in women's health.
