Abstract

Today it is not enough that we know, but who we know. Social networks, local communities, virtual communities, networks of contacts and influence within organizations characterize and influence the culture and decisions much more effectively that the establishment and the formal structures of organizations realize. The Communities of Practice (COPs) can provide excellent opportunities to "liberate" the skills and knowledge hidden within teams and put them at the service of Primary Health Care, ie citizens with health care needs.
