The aim of this text is to describe, briefly, the development of the migratory phenomenon in Portugal, a traditional country of emigration, where, in the last decades, immigrant population has increased significantly, sparing across urban, suburban and rural areas. A literature search was conducted to seek information of this process in reference literature, in a computer database and in own researches.Downloads
