Reading medical articles is an important means of medical education. The sheer numbers of published articles, and the lack of time for reading them thoroughly, make it important for the medical reader to use methods to select useful information. The usefulness of information depends upon its relevance and scientific credibility. Relevance criteria, and criteria to assess scientific credibility as applied to two types of commonly published articles - review and original articles - are discussed here.Downloads
