Seldom patients request different types of certificates to Family doctors / General Practitioners. Most of these requests concern sick leaves and health certificates. While some of these requests are reasonable, others may be considered inappropriate. On those occasions many doctors feel divided and do not know which the best way to act. The author in this text, following ethic values, defines which requests may be considered as reasonable and which may not. To strengthen doctor patient relationships some suggestions are given on how to handle these situations without making them a source of conflict.Downloads
